Cullen Neal Joins Racers Coaching Staff for 2025-26

Murray State head men's basketball coach Ryan Miller announced hiring of Cullen Neal as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season.

"I'm grateful and ecstatic to join Coach Miller's staff at Murray State," said Neal. "To be able to join this prestigious basketball program and learn from a great basketball mind in Coach Miller was a huge selling point for me. I'm looking forward to positively impacting the next generation of Racers and contributing to a basketball program that continually competes for Missouri Valley Conference Championships."

Neal comes to the Racers with five years of coaching experience in the collegiate ranks with stops at Nevada, Rice, and most recently with Hawaii. In 2024, Silver Waves Media named him on the 100 Rising Stars List for men's mid-major assistant coaches.

"Cullen Neal's addition to our coaching staff is a tremendous win for Murray State," said Miller. "Having known Cullen since my time working alongside his father, Coach Craig Neal, at New Mexico, I've witnessed his growth firsthand—from a standout Division I player to a rising star in coaching. Neal played collegiately at New Mexico, Ole Miss, and Saint Mary's and earned his bachelor's degree from New Mexico in 2016 and a Master's degree from Nevada in 2022. Scoring over 1,000 points in his college career, Neal helped New Mexico win the Mountain West title in 2013 and was part of multiple Top-25 squads at both UNM and Saint Mary's. The Albuquerque, New Mexico native played professionally for two seasons in Poland and Germany.
