The Racers look to move to 2-0 to start the season as they take on the Lindenwood Lions on Sunday at Cutchin Field.
Murray State (1-0-0) aims to build on a strong start after a 2-0 win over Troy in Thursday's season opener. The Racers were dominant on both ends of the field, highlighted by a standout collegiate debut from freshman Addison Howell, who netted her first goal and recorded six shots on goal while coming off the bench.
Head coach Matt Lodge earned his 61st career victory with the win, becoming the winningest coach in Murray State soccer history.
Lindenwood (1-0-0) is coming off a 2-1 victory over Illinois State. The Lions are looking to build on their 2024 season, when they went 11-5-4 and won the OVC tournament for the first time since moving from Division II to Division I competition in 2022.
The Lions are led by head coach Dave Musso, now in his eighth season at the helm in St. Charles. The 2024 campaign marked Lindenwood's first winning season under his guidance.
Lindenwood returns 10 of 11 starters from last year's roster, including reigning OVC Freshman of the Year Mackenzie Compton, who led the team in points, goals and assists.
