Racers Roll Past Evansville – Winning Streak is 10

MSU moved to 6-0 in the MVC with their 10th consecutive win
The Murray State Racers pushed their winning streak to 10 games Wednesday with a 79-69 victory over the Evansville Purple Aces at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
The Racers (14-3) remained undefeated in the Missouri Valley Conference at 6-0 and come home Saturday (Jan. 10) to face Valparaiso at 3 p.m. With Belmont's 78-65 win at Northern Iowa and Valpo's home 77-71 over Illinois State, the Racers have first place in The Valley to themselves.
Javon Jackson carded his seventh game this season of 20 points with a game-high 22, while Roman Domon carded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds and JJ Traynor added 12 points.
Trailing by four with 4:53 in the first half, the Racers got their defense set and began to make some distance. MSU finished the half on a 14-6 run to take a 42-30 lead at the intermission. The Racers forced a pair of turnovers which saw Domon hit a deep 3-pointer and then he made a backdoor dunk and finished the half making their final five shots.
The second half was a slog as 11 combined fouls were called before the first media timeout.
Evansville got as close as 60-59 with 8:41 left, before the Racers pushed out to a 14-point lead on Traynor's second 3-pointer of the day with 1:45 left.
