Murray State won its tri-match at Ohio State on Saturday, finishing with a 4725 aggregate and 312 centers, ahead of UTEP 4706 and the host Buckeyes 4703.
All three teams shot an identical 2378 in air rifle, so the match came down to smallbore. There, the Racers built their margin with a 2347, outscoring UTEP by 19 points and Ohio State by 22. Six Racers fired 581 or better in smallbore, and four of the top five smallbore scores in the match belonged to Murray State.
Emma Lawrence led the Racers in smallbore with a 589 and 38 centers, tied for the most centers in the event. She added a 594 in air rifle for a 1183 aggregate and fourth place overall. Mallory Johnson followed in smallbore with a 588, and Anceline Brackman and Caroline Martin each fired a 587.
One week after tying the program air rifle record, Brackman again shot a 599 in air rifle, this time with 55 centers. She shot perfect 100s on five of her six strings and topped the field in the event. Her 1186 aggregate placed her second overall, one point behind UTEP's Kameron Wells, whose 1187 led all shooters and included a match-best 592 in smallbore.
Johnson placed fifth with a 1181 (588 smallbore, 593 air rifle), and Martin placed sixth with a 1179 (587 smallbore, 592 air rifle). Ashley Haymond finished ninth with a 1173, and Lea Soulé finished 10th with a 1172, giving Murray State six of the top 10 individual spots. Ohio State's Gabriella Sprague was third with a 1184, which included a 598 in air rifle and a match-high 89 aggregate centers.
