MURRAY, Ky. - Breece Bass, Kate Donoghue and Gabriel Ramdeen each scored Sunday afternoon as Griselda Revolorio turned away seven shots for her third shutout of the season leading Murray State over Valparaiso 3-0 at Cutchin Field for its first Missouri Valley Conference win of 2026.
"The girls responded and they continued to do what they've been doing, they worked hard." Head coach Ben Madsen said, "They earned it."
Murray State (2-8-2, 1-2-0 MVC) scored three times in a match for the second time this season, both at home, and recorded their first multi-goal performance since Sept. 6. Valparaiso (5-6-1, 1-2-0 MVC) came in having scored 18 goals, 10 more than Murray State had managed through 11 matches, and did not put one past Revolorio.
Bass opened the scoring in the 17th minute, finishing from an Addison Howell service in the 17th minute. Donoghue doubled the lead with an unassisted strike in the 58th minute, and Ramdeen closed it out in the 83rd minute off a Bass assist.
Bass finished with a season-high seven shots and three points, both single-game highs for 2026. The junior forward now has two goals and three assists on the year and leads Murray State with seven points. Her assist on the third goal was her third of the season, also a team high.
"It was fun to put up a crooked number," Madsen said, "And have some balls hit the back of the net. Then, to be able to hold the lead and add a couple more. We're getting better every day."
Donoghue scored for the first time this season, becoming the eighth different Racer to find the net in 2026. Ramdeen's goal was her second of the year, matching Bass for the team lead, and the pair are the only Murray State players with more than one.
Murray State returns home Sunday, October 11 to take on UIC in a rematch of the 2025 MVC semifinals at 1 p.m.
