Racers Give Wildcats all They can Handle in Front of Record Crowd

Murray State Falls to Kentucky 4-2.
The Murray State Racers (4-6) fell to the Kentucky Wildcats (7-4) in front of a record crowd at Racer Field on Wednesday afternoon in Murray, Kentucky.
The crowd of 657 surpasses the previous record of 554, set on March 17, 2014, in another game against Kentucky.
The Racers got on the board first, as after a quiet first inning, Kenley Minor hit a deep shot to left-center for her first home run of the 2026 season.
Kentucky equalized in the fourth as the Wildcats scored on an RBI double to left-center by Alexa Riddel that made it 1-1.
Murray State jumped back in front in the fifth inning on an Allie Waldron RBI double that scored Katy Huels.
The Wildcats increased their lead in the sixth inning as Allie Blum hit a two-out double with a full count, scoring three runs to put the Wildcats ahead 4-2.
The Racers were unable to score in the final inning, making the final score 4-2.
Katy Huels went 2-for-4 at the plate on the day and scored a run. Kynadee Warner, Allie Waldron, Kenley Minor, and Reagan Towns all recorded base hits. Waldron and Minor recorded RBI while Towns recorded the first hit of her career.
Bre Haislip (1-0) started in the circle, pitching four innings and allowing just one earned run and five hits. Raylee Roby (1-1) pitched 1 1/3 and allowed two earned runs, taking the loss. Karlye Graber pitched 1 2/3, allowing one earned run and notching a pair of strikeouts.
Hailey Nutter (4-1) got the win for Kentucky in relief after allowing one earned run and striking out five through four innings. McKenzie Oslanzi (0-1) was the starter and pitched three innings, allowing one earned run and tallying one strikeout.
Allie Blum led the Wildcats at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
The Racers are back in action this weekend at Racer Field for the Velvet Milkman Classic, playing six games at home from Thursday to Sunday.
