King & Domon Receive MVC Weekly Honors

The duo had a big week in Murray State wins over UIC and Southern Illinois
Murray State's Fred King was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week and Roman Domon won the MVC Freshman of the Week honor, as announced by the league office in St. Louis.

Out of Mangrove Cay, Bahamas, King led the Racers to a 2-0 mark in wins over UIC and Southern Illinois with averages of 16.5 points per game and a league-best 11.5 rebounds per game. He was an efficient 12-of-17 from the field (70.6). Against the Flames, King scored 16 points (6-of-9 from the field), while adding 14 rebounds, two steals, a block and a steal. In the win in Carbondale against Southern Illinois, he had 17 points, nine rebounds and made six of eight field goals.

Domon, is the MVC Freshman of the Week for a fourth time and led the Racers in scoring by averaging 17.5 points per game. He added 6.5 rebounds per game and collected six assists and three steals in the two wins. Domon had 18 points in the UIC victory and added eight rebounds and three steals against the Flames. He scored 17 against the Salukis with five boards and three assists. He was 12-of-14 from the free throw line in the two games.

Murray State is in second place in The Valley and hosts Northern Iowa at the CFSB Center Monday night before traveling to Indiana State on Thursday. MSU is back at home in Murray on Sunday to play their second game of the season against Belmont.
