MURRAY, Ky. – The Murray State women's tennis team hits the road this weekend, heading south to Florence, Alabama, for a challenging matchup against a red-hot North Alabama squad on Saturday.
Last Time Out
The Racers (2-5) are looking to snap a five-match slide following a hard-fought 5-2 loss at Jacksonville State last Saturday. Despite the recent stretch, Murray State has remained competitive in nearly every flight. Valeria Chaikovskaia and Yuna Kadowaki provided the highlights in Jacksonville, picking up impressive wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions, respectively.
Scouting the Lions
North Alabama enters the weekend as one of the hottest teams in the region, carrying an eight-match winning streak into the contest. The Lions have been dominant during that span, outscoring their opponents 39-6.
Series History
Murray State holds a 3-1 lead in the all-time series against UNA. While the Racers have historically had the upper hand, the Lions took the most recent meeting, a 4-3 thriller in 2024, marking their first win in program history over Murray State.
