CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Racers fell on the road to Southeast Missouri State 8-1 in their first of two scheduled midweek games against the Redhawks this season. Murray State moves to 6-9 in road contests and 3-4 in midweek games.

Kainen Jorge provided the Racers' lone run today with a solo shot in the eighth inning, his fifth home run of the season, now leading the Racers. Jorge's homerun added to his fourth inning single, posting his 10^th multi-hit game of the season.

Murray State (19-10, 6-0 MVC) generated four hits on the day, with Luke Mistone and Colby Ott each knocking singles.

MSU drew six total walks on the day, led by Kingsley Guthrie, who walked in both of his plate appearances.

Jack Wajda got the ball to start the game, making his second start of his career, and was handed the loss. After Wajda started the game with two scoreless frames, Southeast Missouri (21-8, 5-1 OVC) put across three runs in the third and never surrendered the lead.

A committee of five arms finished out the game for MSU, Preston Chaudoin highlighting the bullpen with 2 scoreless innings and a pair of strikeouts.

Murray State will look to continue their early success in MVC play when they host Belmont in a three-game series beginning Thursday at 5 p.m, in the first game action at newly renovated Johnny Reagan Field.
