Hustedde Tosses Five Strong Innings in Loss to UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - Murray State baseball fell 4-0 to UCF on Saturday, dropping its third straight game and losing the weekend series to the Knights. The result marked the first time the Racers have been shut out in the 2026 season.
Jacob Hustedde delivered his strongest outing of the year despite being handed the loss. Hustedde went five innings on the mound, allowing just three hits and one unearned run.
The Murray State (10-5) offense struggled to find its footing early as UCF (8-5) retired the first 11 batters of the game. Kristofer Hokenson became the first MSU baserunner with a walk in the fourth inning.
Hokenson was a bright spot for the Racers, recording two singles and a walk. Anthony Perritano and Luke Mistone were the only other Racers to reach base, as each finished with a single.
Murray State threatened in the sixth inning when Hokenson and Mistone connected for back-to-back singles, but they were eventually stranded to end the frame.
Parker Patterson provided a clean performance out of the bullpen. He finished the game on the mound for the Racers, tossing 1.2 innings with two strikeouts and no hits allowed.
Murray State will look to leave Orlando on a positive note tomorrow in the weekend series finale. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
