Racers Drop Midweek Matchup at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss – Murray State baseball fell to Ole Miss 19-2 in a rematch of the 2025 Oxford Regional. The loss was the largest score differential since Feb. 22, 2015, against IPFW where the Racers lost 20-3.
Murray State (24-17, 10-5 MVC) moves to 6-23-1 all-time against the Rebels, taking three of their last six matchups.
Preston Chaudoin (0-1), making his first start of the year, was handed the loss after one inning of work, allowing two runs.
Ole Miss (30-12, 10-8 SEC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning, before putting across eight runs in the fourth and nine more in the fifth.
Making his second start of the season, Easton Romero knocked the Racers' first hit of the day in the top of the fifth.
Conner Cunningham hit a double in the top of the seventh inning, setting up Jake Slade for a two-run homer, his second of the year.
The Racers will look to bounce back this weekend as they hit the road again to take on Southern Illinois in a three-game MVC series. Sunday's game will be featured on ESPNU, the Racers' lone nationally televised game of the regular season.
