Magwood played one season at Auburn after entering college as top prospect
Murray State men's basketball has signed Kaden Magwood, a highly-talented guard from Louisville, Kentucky who played his first collegiate season at Auburn.
Magwood was a four-star recruit coming out of high school who was rated as the No. 39 overall player in the Class of 2025 by ESPN before joining up with the Tigers.
"Kaden is an extremely talented bucket-getter who can finish from anywhere on the floor and will provide an instant spark for our offense," head coach Ryan Miller said. "His competitive mentality when he steps on the court makes him dangerous on both sides of the ball. We are excited to welcome him to the Racer Family."
In his lone season on The Plains, he played in 20 games, earning two starts, and averaged 10.8 minutes and 3.6 points per game. He finished the year with 35 assists to just 14 turnovers. Magwood recorded a career-high 14 points in the team's NIT First Round contest against South Alabama.
He also secured valuable playing experience in profile games against opposition such as Houston, Oregon, Michigan, St. John's, Arizona and Purdue, among others.
Before entering college, he was invited to the 2024 NBPA Top 100 Camp in Orlando, Fla., where he was among the camp's leaders averaging 17 points and 3.4 assists per contest.
