Hayden Cross will be in his second year as the Director of Player Development and Murray State’s catchers coach for the 2026 season
Played a major role in the Racers legendary run to the 2025 College World Series.
Cross played a huge role in guiding Will Vierling to a First-Team All-MVC Selection in 2025, and eventual 11th round pick to the Philadephia Phillies
In his first year as the Director of Player Development, Cross helped lead 12 Racers to MVC Honors with 18 total awards.
He joins the program after working as a graduate assistant for Appalachian State in 2024, where he coached catchers and assisted with coaching hitters
His assistance with the offense helped the Mountaineers to setting a single-season program record 96 homers last season while leading the Sun Belt with a .919 team OPS
Played at Appalachian State where he was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team as a catcher in 2022
He caught the third-most runners stealing in the Sun Belt that year before leading the conference in runners caught stealing in 2023
In Cross’ senior season, he slashed .327/.434/.514 and helped lead the Mountaineers to their first Sun Belt tournament semifinals since joining the conference
