Alex Robinson, Jr. was named Murray State Basketball's Director of Player Personnel ahead of the 2026-27 season after originally joining the program as a graduate assistant coach.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Robinson joined the Racers after completing his professional basketball career. He brings extensive playing experience at the collegiate, NBA G League and international levels to the Murray State coaching staff.
Robinson played collegiately at Texas A&M during the 2014-15 season before transferring to TCU, where he played three seasons and earned All-Big 12 honors in 2019. He was also named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team in 2017 and helped the Horned Frogs win the National Invitation Tournament that season. Robinson finished his TCU career as the program’s all-time assists leader with 672 and totaled 1,202 points. In 2018-19, he was one of only two players from a major conference to record at least 400 points, 200 assists and 50 steals.
Following his collegiate career, Robinson played professionally from 2019-22 with seven NBA G League teams, including the Cleveland Charge, Santa Cruz Warriors, Iowa Wolves, Salt Lake City Stars, Wisconsin Herd, Fort Wayne Mad Ants and Long Island Nets. He also competed internationally in Australia, India, the Ivory Coast and New Zealand.
Robinson earned his undergraduate degree from TCU in 2019. Basketball runs in the family, as his mother also played collegiate women’s basketball at TCU. Robinson wore No. 25 during his playing career, matching the number his mother wore.
