Before MSU: Earned varsity letters all three years he competed in high school...was named "Most Improved Shooter" award as a sophomore, his first year on the rifle team...2002 first place Overall B Team Conference Match High School JROTC rifle team...captain of B rifle team at Poplar Bluff Senior...was a teammate at Poplar Bluff Senior with current Murray State rifle team member Joe Shane...very involved in high school ROTC program.
Personal: Born on Oct. 8, 1985...the son of Todd Horvath and Donna Birnel...majoring in marketing.
