Mitchell graduated with a undergrad in psychology and a minor in health (non-pete) from Central Arkansas, and she is now pursuing a masters in human development and leadership here at Murray State University.Â
Her responsibilities with Murray State women’s basketball include player development on and off the court, supporting recruiting efforts, scouting and game planning as well as basketball operations duties. Kayla’s responsibilities with Murray State women’s basketball include cutting and organizing MSU and opponent video, and helping oversee updating and creation of in-house graphics for basketball facilities. She also will assist in managing the Racers recruiting database and set-up for recruiting visits.Â
Prior to Central Arkansas, Mitchell was a starting point guard for the Lamar Cardinals. She was known for her boundless energy and defensive IQ. Leading the team in assists with 84 and ranking second on the team with 28 steals, Mitchell proved time and time again that scoring isn't the only way to positively impact a basketball team.Â
