Chris Griffin is in his fourth year with the MSU women's golf program as assistant coach.
He joined the MSU program after enjoying a stellar career with the Racers’ men’s program where he competed for Coach Eddie Hunt from 2006-10.
Griffin assists Head Coach Coach Velvet Milkman in conducting practices and has proven invaluable in on the course coaching during events.
He graduated from Murray State with a degree in business administration and finished his MBA at MSU in 2010.
Griffin also serves as the assistant manager at the home of Racer Golf, Miller Memorial GC.
With an outstanding amateur resume, Griffin is an accomplished player and still regularly competes.
He competed in 108 career rounds over four seasons for the Racers and was part of MSU’s 2010 OVC Championship, the first for the program since 1991. Griffin was named All-OVC his senior season and to the All-OVC Tournament Team.
Griffin has qualified and competed in the Kentucky State Amateur nine times and posted a 25th place finish in Bowling Green, Ky. in 2013. In 2012 he won the title at the Harrahs Rolling Hills Invitational and placed second at the Irvin Cobb Championship, both held in Paducah, Ky. He has finished runner-up three times (2008, 2010, 2012) with all coming in playoffs at the Texas Roadhouse West Kentucky Open in Ledbetter, Ky. He won the West Kentucky Amateur in 2006 and in 2008 won both the Ken-Ten Championship and Benton Invitational.
