2007-08: Finished the season with an 11-18 mark in singles action...went 4-5 in OVC matches...won seven of her eight matches at No. 2 singles...recorded a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Austin Peay in her only match at No. 1 singles...teamed with Angela McGahee to post a 20-3 record in doubles...duo was 16-2 in dual matches, including going 8-2 in OVC action...put together a stretch of 15-straight victories...three doubles losses was the fewest in a season since 1992 and the .870 winning percentage is the third best in the last 30 years.
2006-07: Appeared in 10 singles and 15 doubles matches during the season...went 3-6 during fall tournament play...defeated Beth Kistler of Austin Peay, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 singles in her only OVC match of the season...combined with two teammates to go 6-9 in doubles action...teamed with Casady Pruitt to 2-2 during dual play at No. 2 singles...defeated a duo from APSU in only OVC action...selected to the 2006-07 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2005-06: Made an immediate impact as a true freshman, winning eight matches at No. 4 singles and 15 doubles matches during the spring season...teamed with Casady Pruitt for a 9-1 doubles record in OVC matches...ended the spring season by winning nine straight doubles matches, including two in the conference tournament...blanked Jill Wirtz of Eastern Illinois, 6-0, 6-0...lost two OVC singles matches in three sets...selected to the 2005-06 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll...member of the Spring 2006 Murray State Dean’s List.
Before MSU: Lettered four seasons at North Central High School under head coach Heather Iffert...helped lead the Panthers to state championships in 2002 and 2004...four-time all-state selection...played on the Junior Wightman Cup in 2003 and 2004...won the Dottie Meyer award for sportsmanship...academically, won the North Central leadership award in 2002 and 2003.
Personal: Anne Catherine Pennington was born on Feb. 20, 1987...daughter of Mark and Susan Pennington...has one brother, John (18), and one sister, Holly (13)...majoring in pre-law.
