Dominique Robinson is no stranger to the Racers track & field program after spending the 2005-08 campaigns as a member of the MSU team. In August 2010 she returned as a graduate assistant for the women's track & field program.
Robinson left the Racers in 2008 holding the school record in the indoor weight throw (59’6.75”) and in the outdoor shot put (45’10.75”). She returns to the Racers Athletic Department as a graduate assistant that will be responsible for working with the throwers.
“As a former athlete I think it is an amazing opportunity to be able to give back to Murray State,” said Robinson. “I am happy to be a part of the rebuilding stages of this track team and I hope to be a contributing asset to the foundation and morale of the women's track & field team.”
While at MSU she was named the 2006 OVC Female Field Athlete of the Year, earned the OVC Indoor Weight Throw Title in 2007 & 2008, and placed second in the indoor shot put in 2007.
Robinson came to the Racers after helping the Virgil/Grissom High School team earn five indoor/outdoor Alabama State Championship Titles and two runner-up finishes. She was an All-Metro pick for four seasons, while also lettering in basketball as a prep.
The Huntsville, Ala., native graduated from Murray State in December 2008 with a degree in marketing. She is expected to graduate in December 2010 with a master’s in business administration and will then be pursuing a second master’s degree in occupational safety and health administration at MSU.
