Up next, the Racers host West Florida on Monday, Nov. 24 at 7:15 p.m. at the Regional Special Events Center.
POST-GAME COMMENTS
MSU head coach Mick Cronin:
"It feels great to win your first game, and I'm proud of our guys for the way they played, especially in the second half. But personally, it feels great to get my first win. I was really worried early on because I had some family here and my dad would've gotten on me. He would've wondered what we were practicing a month for if we played like that."
"We make it interesting don't we? We played a well-prepared, talented team who had a great plan against our press. They got the ball in bounds so fast that we couldn't set up our press. Once we adjusted in the second half, we had some success."
"I'm pleased with our ability to rally. We got stronger as the game went on, which is what you're looking for. We practice that way."
"We let him (Pritchard) get his confidence in the first half and we couldn't stop him. If you pressure him, he drives by you and if you lay off, he knocks down the three. But we did a better job of denying him the basketball in the second half and a lot of the credit goes to Kevin Paschel."
"I'm elated with our crowd, particularly the students. I have been visiting frats and sororities, and we've been pushing for a big student turnout, so we had to deliver...they did. They turned out tonight, got into the game, and were a huge factor."
Senior Cuthbert Victor:
"This was fun tonight, I'm not going to lie. Last year we had some good games and it was fun at times, but in this style everyone gets involved and plays together."
