Racers get fourth straight win with 3-0 shutout at Tennessee-Martin

The Murray State women's volleyball team picked up its fourth straight win and its 18th of its last 19 matches with a 3-0 shutout at Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee-Martin, 30-28, 30-24, 30-23.
The Racers (18-5, 12-1 OVC) were led by freshman outside hitter Lilli Zhan and sophomore outside hitter Paige Sun, who had a match-high 14 kills apiece. Zhan -- this week's OVC Defensive Player of the Week -- also had a co-match-high four blocks for MSU.
Junior outside hitter Kimberly Bunnage and freshman middle blocker Katie Kemezys added seven kills each. Kemezys hit for a .357 percentage, while Zhan hit .333. Junior middle blocker Danielle Sutterer, who added six kills and had three blocks, also had a .333 attack percentage. Sophomore setter Nikki Wong handed out a match-high 37 assists.
Tennessee-Martin (4-25, 2-11 OVC) was paced by 13 kills from Leight Reiniche, 12 from Heather Kea and 10 from Jamie Fitzwater. Rebecca Palmer had four blocks for the Skyhawks, while Fitzwater had three, and Reiniche had 13 digs, while Fitzwater had 12. Krissy Neumann handed out 35 assists for UTM.
The match closed out a five-match road swing for the Racers, which went 4-1 during that stretch. Murray State returns home to close out its regular-season schedule with three matches in Racer Arena, beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. against OVC rival Tennessee State.
