Racers fall in season-opener at Louisville

The Murray State men's tennis team opened its 2004 season at Louisville, coming away with a tough 7-0 loss this afternoon.
Louisville (2-0) won the doubles point 3-0, as MSU's Zakaria Bahri and Masimba Muskwe lost at No. 1 doubles to Javier Herrera and Octavian Nicodim 8-5 in the eight-game pro set, while Jeff Lester and Chris Morgan fell at No. 2 doubles to Jakob Gustaffson and Daram Johnson 8-5. Chris Jacobs and Adam Maskill lost at No. 3 doubles to Jeremy Clark and Matt Mayer 8-4.
In singles play, Bahri fell at No. 1 singles to UL's Jhonny Berrido 6-2, 6-4, while Maskill lost at No. 2 singles to Johnson 6-3, 6-4, and Morgan fell at No. 3 singles to Nicodim 6-1, 6-0. Muskwe lost at No. 4 singles to Mayer 6-1, 6-3, while Lester fell at No. 5 singles to Gustaffson 6-2, 6-4, and Bryan Meurer lost at No. 6 singles to Clark 6-1, 6-0.
Murray State returns to the court on Jan. 31, when the Racers visit Vanderbilt.
