Racers Swept By Gamecocks in Jacksonville

The Murray State men's tennis team fell at Jacksonville State as the Gamecocks topped the Racers 7-0 on Friday.

JSU defeated the Racers quickly in doubles play to take the early lead in the match. Partners Marcel Ueltzhoeffer and David Schrott were defeated at the No. 1 doubles 6-2. Srdjan Trosic and Javier Villar also lost 6-2 in their match at the No. 3 doubles. The losses gave Jacksonville State the early lead going into the singles matches.

The Racers couldn't find a groove in the singles match, Ueltzhoeffer fell at the No. 1 singles 7-6, 6-1. Sophomore Will True played a tight match at the No. 2 singles. True lost his first set 6-0 but fought back to take his second set 7-6. True couldn't pull out the win as he lost in the tiebreaker 12-10. Villar, who has been strong for the Racers, couldn't get the win at the No. 6 singles as he was defeated 6-3, 6-1.

Murray State (3-21, 1-7) travels to Cookeville, Tennessee for it's final match of the season as they take on Tennessee Tech on Saturday. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
