Racers Swept in Season Finale

In the final match of the season, the Murray State men's tennis team was swept 7-0 on Saturday by the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech.
The Racers fell behind early in the doubles matches. Will True and David Hess lost their match at the No. 2 doubles 6-1. Partners Javier Villar and Srdjan Trosic lost their match at the No. 3 doubles 6-2 giving TTU the doubles point and the early 1-0 lead.
Tennessee Tech also proved to be too much for the Racers in singles matches. True played at tight match at the No. 2 singles but fell in his match 7-6, 6-3. Marcel Ueltzhoeffer was swept 6-0 in his first set at the No. 1 singles. He battled to force a tiebreaker point in the second set but fell 7-6. Trosic was swept in both sets at the No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 4 singles, David Schrott fell 6-2, 6-4. Hess fell in his match at the No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-3. Villar rounded out the Racers at the No. 6 singles as he lost 6-3, 6-4.
This match ends Murray State's season as the team finishes the year 1-8 in conference and 3-22 overall.Â
