Racers On the Road for Final Conference Matches

The Murray State men's tennis team travels to Jacksonville State on Friday and Tennessee Tech on Saturday for their final matches of the season.
The Racers are coming off their first conference win of the season as they defeated Tennessee State 4-3 on Senior Day. Partners Marcel Ueltzhoeffer and David Schrott as well as Javier Villar and Srdjan Trosic won their doubles matches to give the Racers an early lead. Ueltzhoeffer won his second straight match at the No. 1 singles. He won his first set 6-3, fell in the second set and won the third set 6-4. David Hess won his match 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles. Villar won the third singles  as he won 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 singles to secure the Racer victory.
Jacksonville State is fourth in the OVC with a 4-3 record in conference play and an overall record of 8-12. The Gamecocks come into the match after a close match with SIUE. JSU lost the match 4-3. The Gamecocks play Austin Peay on Saturday to round out their regular season.
Tennessee Tech is currently undefeated in conference (7-0) with an overall 11-6 record. The Golden Eagles face the Governors of Austin Peay before facing MSU on Saturday. In TTU's last match, the Golden Eagles defeated Eastern Illinois  6-1. The win gave Tennessee Tech a share of the regular season OVC title.
Match time against JSU on Friday is set for 9 a.m. Match time against TTU on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.
