Racers fall at EKU 3-0

A depleted Murray State women's volleyball team fell tonight at Eastern Kentucky 3-0 in Ohio Valley Conference action. The game scores were 30-19, 30-20, 30-19.
The Racers (4-9, 1-6 OVC) were without the services of sophomore outside hitter Julie Lashley and freshman setter Ashley Meagher due to injury. Senior libero Casandra Ersel was called in as the setter tonight.
Sophomore middle blocker Katie Kemezys led the Racer attack with 11 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Allie Hunt had 10 kills and hit for a .500 percentage, making only one error in 18 attacks.
Senior outside hitter Kimberly Bunnage led MSU with a co-match-high 11 digs, while Kemezys had a co-match-high three blocks. Ersel handed out 29 assists. Senior outside hitter Danielle Sutterer -- marking her birthday -- and Ersel had one ace each.
Lelsey Aldridge had 19 kills for EKU (16-3, 7-0 OVC), while Jessica Sabath had three aces. Sabath and Brittany Nobilio had 11 digs apiece, while Liz Guard had three blocks. Kelly Jennings handed out 43 assists.
Murray State visits Morehead State tomorrow (Saturday) at 1 p.m. CT.
