Lady Racers Compete At Southeast Invite In Final Prep Before OVC's

The Murray State women's track and field team closed out its preparation for the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships this weekend at the Southeast Invitational hosted by Southeast Missouri State at the Student Recreation Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Leading the way for MSU at the event, which was an unscored meet, was freshman sprinter LaShondra Durias. The native of Louisville, Ky., earned a second-place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.16 seconds.

Other finishers for the Lady Racers were:

Shanah Zigler, second, pole vault, 10 feet; Nicole Peterson, seventh, 55-meter hurdles, 8.70; Katie Fowlkes, seventh, triple jump, 35-06; Lauren Wilson, fourth, 600-meter dash, 1:42.30; Nicole Peterson, 10th, 200-meter dash, 27.21.

Up next, the Lady Racers close out the indoor season at the OVC Championships hosted by Eastern Illinois University on Feb. 28-March 1 in Charleston, Ill.
