Racers Fall To Jacksonville State

Murray State's men's tennis team fell in the final singles match of the day to fall 4-3 to Jacksonville State on Saturday at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts in Murray.
Murray State got off to a strong start, claiming the doubles point with a two matches to one edge. At No. 1, Zak Bahri and Masimba Muskwe teamed up to beat JSU's Herrera and Nieto 8-4 and MSU's No. 3 team of Chris Morgan and Adam Maskill beat Ricci and Bourke 9-8. JSU's lone doubles win came at No. 2 with Sirola and Rapson beating MSU's Jeff Lester and Clayton Clark 8-6.
After winning the doubles point to go into singles play up 1-0, the Racers claimed two of the top three singles matches. Bahri won 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 1 over Nieto and Maskill claimed the No. 3 singles win with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Rapson.
At No. 2, Muskwe was knocked off by Sirola of JSU. Jacksonville State won all three matches at Nos. 4-6. MSU's Clark fell 6-0, 6-0 to Ricci at No. 4, Lester fell 6-4, 6-4 to Rybertt at No. 5 and Morgan dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to JSU's Bourke at No. 6.
The Racers next visit Austin Peay on Monday at 2:30 p.m. before closing out its regular-season schedule at home against Tennessee-Chattanooga on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The OVC Championship will be played April 16-18 in Nashville, Tenn.
