The No. 6-seeded Murray State men's tennis team will face No. 3-seeded Morehead State in the first round of the 2004 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament on Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
MSU enters this week's tournament following a key 5-2 conference road win over Austin Peay on Monday. The win secured a berth in the tournament for the Racers, and was a good sign for head coach Mel Purcell.
"I thought our guys stepped up and performed really well in a must-win situation," Purcell said. "I liked the way the we battled in that match. Hopefully, we can keep that kind of attitude this week and get on a roll."
The Racers will move on to face either No. 2-seeded Jacksonville State or No. 7-seeded Austin Peay on Saturday. The semifinals are set for 1:30 p.m., while the consolation round is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sunday's finals are set for 1:30 p.m.
