Racers Roll Past Austin Peay 4-1At OVC Championship Tournament

The Murray State men's tennis team swept through the doubles action en route to a 4-1 win over No. 7-seeded Austin Peay in the consolation round of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament today at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.
Murray State will now play No. 4-seeded Samford for fifth-place on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
On the doubles side, the Racers earned three 8-3 wins led by seniors Zak Bahri and Masimba Muskwe who teamed to knock off Joao Pinho and Marcos Queiroz in No. 1 doubles. In No. 2 doubles, Jeff Lester and Clayton Clark teamed for an 8-3 win over Andrew Naidu and Wesleigh Pancho, while Adam Maskill and Chris Morgan teamed to win at No. 3 doubles over Podrigo Borges and Jonathan Brown by another 8-3 margin.
In singles action, Maskill earned a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Pinho in No. 3 singles, while Lester won in No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 triumph over Pancho. In No. 6 singles, Morgan earned a 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 victory over Naidu.
