Racers beat Tennessee-Martin 4-1

The Murray State men's tennis team played its doubles outdoors, but had to take its singles indoors against Tennessee-Martin today due to rain, but the Racers came out with the 4-1 win.
In doubles play, Zakaria Bahri and Masimba Muskwe won at No. 1 doubles over Adolfo Anzola and Gustavo Anzola 8-4 in the eight-game pro set, while Adam Maskill and Chris Morgan won at No. 3 doubles over Ben Hatchwell and Lucas Tregansin 8-5. Clayton Clark and Jeff Lester fell at No. 2 doubles to Daniel McGuire and Oltion Mollaymeri 8-4, but the Racers won the doubles point 2-1.
Singles play was moved to the indoor courts at KenLake State Park in Aurora, Ky., where Bahri won at No. 1 singles over Gustavo Anzola 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, to clinch the win for MSU. Muskwe won at No. 2 singles over McGuire 6-3, 6-4, while Maskill won at No. 3 singles over Adolfo Anzola 6-4, 6-3. Clark fell at No. 4 singles to Tregansin 6-3, 6-0.
Murray State has a full Ohio Valley Conference slate this week, taking on Eastern Illinois tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m., Jacksonville State on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and Samford on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Racers then visit Austin Peay on Monday at 2:30 p.m. before closing out its regular-season schedule at home against Tennessee-Chattanooga on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The OVC Championship will be played April 16-18 in Nashville, Tenn.
