Samuel competes in Olympics 100-meters for Antigua Barbuda

Murray State women's track and field alumna Heather Samuel competed in the XXVIII Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, on Friday, competing in the 100-meter dash for Antigua and Barbuda.
Samuel finished sixth in her eight-runner heat with a time of 12.05 seconds and did not advance. The top three finishers in each of the eight heats and the other top eight runners advanced to the next round of preliminaries. Samuel was 0.76 seconds behind her heat's third-place runner, Gail Devers of the United States.
Samuel was listed with the fastest reaction time out of the blocks in her heat at 0.158 seconds.
