Murray State Basketball fans love their Racers

Murray State Basketball fans love their Racers and so do the athletes from the West Kentucky Special Olympics group in Paducah who attended the Racers game Saturday against Tennessee State.

The group were invited to stay after the game to meet the Racers players and get photos and autographs with them.

"“It's amazing how much they enjoy it." Special Olympics coach Randy Wiersma said. "They cheered for the Racers and then to get to meet the players just tops the day off just right.”

The Special Olympics athletes are playing their own basketball season at the moment and February 19th will compete in the regionals in Bowling Green.

The Racers defeated Tennessee State 82-74 to move to 10-6 over all and 5-1 in the OVC.

Murray State plays at Eastern Kentucky Thursday and at Morehead State Saturday.
