Racers freshman Tony Easley to redshirt 2005-06 season

Cronin said redshirting Easley is the best thing to do.
"Tony has decided that redshirting this year was in his best interest, and I fully support him in his decision," Cronin said. "From an age standpoint, Tony should be a senior in high school, so this will get him in the right class, as well as give him a chance to earn his B.A. and master's from Murray State."
Easley signed with the Racers a year ago out of Auburn High School, the same school that produced former Racer great Aubrey Reese.
Easley led his team from Auburn to an Alabama 6A state championship and a 30-7 record last spring. He set an AHS single-season record with 142 blocks (3.8 per game). He also averaged 10 points and nine rebounds per game.
Cronin is excited about Tony Easley's career at Murray State.
"Tony is a big part of our future, and this will ensure he has time to develop his full potential as a player," Cronin said. "We're all happy that we'll have someone like Tony around for an extra season."
