Jamie Nurnberger was named Ohio Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week, according to a release issued by the league office this afternoon.

Nurnberger, a junior from Brighton, Ill., earned the honor after winning the discus throw at the APSU Invitational with a throw of 134 feet, 10.5 inches, second-best in the OVC this season. She also placed second in the shot put with a toss of 39 feet, 4 inches, fifth-best in the conference this year.

Murray State will next compete on April 22-23 at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.
