Racers prepare for OVC Tournament

The Murray State men's tennis team will have the No. 7 seed in the opening round of the O'Reilly's Ohio Valley Conference Men's Tennis Championship, to be played Friday through Sunday at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.
Murray State (4-13, 3-5 OVC) opens the championship against No. 2 Morehead State on Friday at 4 p.m. Other first-round matches have No. 1 Samford playing No. 8 Austin Peay (4 p.m.), No. 3 Jacksonville State taking on No. 6 Tennessee-Martin (11 a.m.) and No. 4 Eastern Kentucky meeting No. 5 Tennessee Tech (11 a.m.).
The second-round matches will be played on Saturday at 11 a.m. (losers' bracket) and 4 p.m. (winners' bracket), with the final round being played on Sunday at 11 a.m. (fifth- and seventh-place matches) and 4 p.m. (first- and third-place matches).
Murray State won the men's tennis championships in 1956-58, 1962, 1964, 1966-67, 1980-89 and 2001-02. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships.
