Racers clinch a share of Ohio Valley title overnight

But there in lies the challenge for the Racers.
Even though a share of the title is in hand, the Racers first since 2000, they still have work to do.
"We're happy to be in this position," MSU head coach Mick Cronin said. "But there is a lot of work yet to be accomplished, our main focus at the present is Tennessee State and finding a way to win."
"We must maintain our momentum, no matter if we've clinched a share of the title or not."
With another MSU win or Samford loss, the Racers will clinch the OVC title outright for the first time since 1999. The Racers shared the regular season title with Southeast Missouri State in 2000.
The Racers are 18-5 overall and closing in on the twenty-first 20-win season in program history, and the second in three seasons for Cronin. MSU has won eight straight.
MSU travels to Nashville, Tenn. Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Tennessee State.
Saturday the Racers return home for the first time in two weeks to host the Flames of Illinois-Chicago.
Game time for that contest is 6:00 p.m. after the Lady Racers host Eastern Illinois at 4:00 p.m.
