Murray State Women's Tennis Team Finishes Spring Break Trip With A Win

Murray State University's women's tennis team ended its spring break road trip with a 4-2 win today over Mercer University in Macon, Ga. The Racers won the doubles point and then claimed three singles victories at the top of the line-up to improve to 5-7 on the season. Mercer drops to 5-10 overall.
Anna Lask and Rachael Lask defeated Teresina Pazsoldan and Kelly Blunt, 8-6, at number one doubles. Anne Pennington and Casady Pruitt lost just one game on their way to a win at number two doubles.
In singles play, Murray State's top three players in the line-up claimed straight set victories. Anna Lask beat Pazsoldan at number one singles, 7-5 and 6-1. Rachael Lask took out Lauriane Auvergne at number two singles by a score of 6-0 and 6-2. Pruitt knocked out Irys Citko at number three singles 6-3 and 6-4.
The number four singles match was suspended with each player have won one set and the score tied 1-1 in the third set.
Mercer picked up points at number five and six singles. Blount beat Adriana Alvarez 6-2 and 6-0 at number five singles. Karen Bellman lost just three games while beating Tami McQueen 6-2 and 6-1.
The Racers will return to action on Tuesday when they host Tennessee State University for an Ohio Valley Conference match, at 2:30 p.m., at MSU's Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts.
