Women's Tennis Handles Austin Peay 6-1

Murray State University's women's tennis team beat Austin Peay State University, 6-1, today in Clarksville, Tenn. The Racers posted an 8-0 doubles win and two 6-0 and 6-0 singles wins on their way to improving to 12-8 overall and 8-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference. APSU falls to 4-14 on the season and 0-8 in the OVC.

MSU swept all three doubles matches including Anna Lask and Rachael Lask's 8-0 win over Izabel Rzezniczek and Jessica Hawk at number one doubles.

In singles, Anna Lask and Tami McQueen both won without losing a single game. Lask defeated Elizabeth Whelpley at number one singles, 6-0 and 6-0. McQueen took down Mackenzie Kurth at number six singles 6-0 and 6-0.

Austin Peay's lone point came at number four singles where Alana Carere defeated Anne Pennington, 6-4, 0-6 and 10-6.

The Racers will be in action again on Wednesday when they travel to Cookeville, Tenn., to face Tennessee Tech University at 2 p.m.
