Men's Tennis Falls To Tennessee-Martin

Murray State University's men's tennis team lost to the University of Tennessee-Martin, 5-2, today at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts in Murray, Ky. The Skyhawks improve to 8-7 overall and 6-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Racers drop to 5-10 and 3-4 in league matches.
Tennessee-Martin grabbed the doubles point with wins at number two and three doubles. Stephen Bruwer and Daniel McGuire beat Nicholas Ksiezopolski and Yuri Pompeu, 8-5, at number two doubles. MSU's Fadi Zamjaoui and Dmytro Hryhorash tied it at one doubles match apiece with an 8-6 win at number one doubles over Adolfo Anzola and Oition Mollaymeri.
UTM was able to claim the doubles point with a tiebreaker win at number three doubles. William Taylor and Andrey Yesipov edged Hunter Gerlach and Jeff Lester 9-8 and 7-4 in the tiebreaker.
After the Skyhawks took a 2-0 lead with a victory at number three singles, the Racers tied it up with two singles wins. Zamjaoui beat McGuire, 6-2 and 6-2, at number one singles. Hryhorash extended his winning streak to 10 with a 6-3 and 6-1 victory over Bruwer at number two singles.
Tennessee-Martin won the remaining four singles matches. Chris Slabbert's 6-2 and 6-3 win at number six singles over Jeff Lester clinched the match for the Skyhawks.
The Racers will be in action again on Wednesday when they travel to
