MSU Women's Track & Field Breaks Two School Records at WKU Meet

“We've been looking at the shot record over the past couple of weeks,” MSU head coach Dereck Chavis said.
“Dominique used this as incentive to get to the next step in her improvement; she's right on schedule with what we think she can finish up with this season.”
Robinson's throw is the third best this season in the OVC.

“This is a big break through for her, she's only a freshman,” Chavis said. “She's getting to a point where she's putting all elements of the vault together.”
“Actually, she's jumped higher in practice,” Chavis added. “This is a big confidence boost for her.”
MSU had other top-10 finishes at the WKU event.
Maggie McKay finished fourth in the high jump with an effort of five fee-two and half inches.
Lauren Wilson's time of 2:19.44 placed her fifth in the women's 800 meter run.
Jessica Nauta finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.11.
In the women's long jump, Morgan Chenel's leap of 17 feet-four and three quarter inches placed her ninth. She was also ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet-six and three quarter inches.
Laura Schroeder and Robinson finished third and sixth in the women's discus. Schroeder had a toss of 133 feet-one inch while Robinson had an effort of 126 feet-two inches. Schroeder also finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 106 feet-nine inches.
Shameka Dial finished tenth in the women's shot put with a throw of 38 feet-six inches.
