
Rifle Wins Air Rifle, But Drops Match At Tennessee Tech

The Murray State rifle team outshot host Tennessee Tech 2299-2298 in air rifle on Sunday, but the host Golden Eagles fared better at smallbore, 2269-2252, to win the shoulder-to-shoulder (dual) match 4567-4541.
Cameron Hicks led the Racers with a 580 out of a possible 600 in air rifle and a 578 out of a possible 600 in smallbore for an aggregate (combined) score of 1158 out of a possible 1200. Kevin Witbrodt fired a 577 in air rifle and a 570 in smallbore for an aggregate of 1147, while Kasey Meyer had a 567 in air rifle and a 550 in smallbore for an aggregate of 1117. Erica Meece shot a 575 in air rifle, while Dan Belluzzo fired a 554 in smallbore to complete MSU's scoring.
For Tennessee Tech, Erica Burnham had a 587 in air rifle and a 577 in smallbore for an aggregate of 1164, while Curtis Gagne had a 569 in air rifle and a 575 in smallbore for an aggregate of 1144. Jessica McCauley had a 564 in air rifle, while Austin Litherland had a 578 in air rifle. James Culver had a 553 in smallbore, while Chad Jernigan had a 564 in smallbore to complete TTU's scoring.
Murray State will next compete at Austin Peay on Sunday at 10 a.m.
