Racer Track & Field Places 7th at OVC Indoor Meet

The Murray State Women's Track & Field team finished seventh at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships Saturday, and come away with some building blocks for the outdoor season.
After winning the 20 pound weight throw Friday, Dominique Robinson came back today and finished first in the shot second in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet-9.50 inches. She missed first place by only a quarter inch.
Her toss of 54 feet-4 inches Friday in the weight throw is a new Murray State record. Robinson bested the previous mark set in 2005 of 54 feet-1 inch by Jamie Nurnberger.
Alicia Tempel finished sixth in the pole vault with an effort of 10 feet-6 inches.
Kassandra Sutzer had a leap of 16 feet-2.25 inches to finish 16th in the long jump.
Andreye' Payne also had a 16th place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 33 feet-2.50 inches.
After finishing 14th in the 3,000 meter run, Alaina Zanin came back and finished 11th in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 19:15.
The Racers foursome of Sydney Gholston, Sutzer, Katherine Lynn and Rachel Hooks finished ninth in the 4X400 relay with a time of 4:12.
