TTU Comes From Behind To Edge Men's Tennis

The two teams battled hard for the doubles point, with two of the matches going to a tiebreaker. Hunter Gerlach and Chris Horton staked
Juan Pablo Gomez and Louis Steyn tied things up when they edged MSU's Jeff Lester and Yuri Pompeu 9-8 at No. 2 doubles. The TTU duo won the tiebreaker by a 7-4 score.
That left No. 1 doubles as the deciding match for the doubles point. MSU's Dmytro Hryhorash and Fadi Zamjaoui battled back to force a tiebreaker. Tech's Tiago Gilioli and Borja Zarco edged out in front 4-2 in the tiebreaker but the Racers came storming back.
Hryhorash and Zamjaoui won five straight points to claim a 7-4 victory in the tiebreaker. Hryhorash's cross court shot finished off the Golden Eagles and gave the Racers the doubles point.
When singles play began, Tennessee Tech won four straight to claim the team victory. Steyn started things off with a 6-0 and 6-1 win against Lester at No. 4 singles. Hubert knocked off Gerlach 6-2 and 6-4 to give the visitors a 2-1 advantage.
Gilioli pulled the Golden Eagles to within one point of victory with his 6-1 and 7-6 win over Hryhorash at No. 2 singles. Pablo Gomez clinched the match when he downed Pompeu 6-2 and 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
The Racers will play again on Sunday when they travel to face
