Murray State's Fadi Zamjaoui has been selected as the 2007 Ohio Valley Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year, the league announced today from its Brentwood, Tenn., headquarters. This is the second straight year that Zamjaoui has been recognized as the OVC Player of the Year.
In addition to earning player of the year honors, Zamjaoui was also selected to the all-conference first team.
The Casablanca, Morocco native finished the season with an 8-0 conference mark and a 9-4 overall record at the No. 1 singles position.
Zamjaoui teamed with Dmytro Hryhorash to compile a 6-2 league record and an 8-5 overall mark at the No. 1 doubles spot.
The senior enters the OVC tournament having won 17 straight OVC matches dating back to last season.
Murray State University men's tennis will begin play in the 2007 O'Reilly Ohio Valley Conference Men's Tennis Tournament on Friday. The sixth seeded Racers will face third seeded Samford University at 2 p.m., at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.
