Men's Tennis Falls To Samford At OVC Tournament

MSU's Dmytro Hryhorash and Fadi Zamjaoui defeated Sam Huffman and Renan Silveira, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles, but Samford picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the doubles point.
Hank Grant and Stuart Misner defeated Jeff Lester and Yuri Pompeu, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles. Kelwin De Wet and Brian Dushock edged Hunter Gerlach and Chris Horton, 9-8 (7-2) at No. 3 doubles.
The Bulldogs earned three straight-set singles victories to win the match. Huffman downed Gerlach, 6-2 and 6-2, at No. 3 singles. Grant beat Lester, 6-2 and 7-6, at No. 4 singles. De Wet shutout Pompeu in the second set 6-0 after winning the first set 7-5.
Zamjaoui was on his way to a victory at No. 1 singles when the match was clinched. The 2007 OVC Player of the Year won the first set 6-3 and was leading 4-3 in the second set.
