Danero Thomas Named MSU-Pepsi Athlete of the Week

Murray State junior Danero Thomas is the MSU-Pepsi Athlete of the Week for the period of Dec. 15-21.

Thomas received special notice as the Pepsi award winner after he led the Racers in scoring in their first two games at the San Juan Shootout in Tao Baja, Puerto Rico.

Thomas scored 16 points in the Racers' 73-64 loss to South Florida on Saturday and added another team-leading 16 points when the Racers defeated Oral Roberts on Sunday.

Thomas, who was named to the San Juan Shootout All-Tournament Team, was a combined 12-of-22 from the field and he was 7-of-9 from the free throw line.
