Jewuan Long Out For Season With Knee Injury

Murray State head men's basketball coach Billy Kennedy announced sophomore Jewuan Long will miss the rest of the 2008-09 season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in the game at Morehead State Dec. 6.

“I'm very sorry for Jewuan,” Kennedy said. “He had really worked hard in the off-season.”

“We're going to miss him because he was such a big part of our team, especially on the defensive end.”

Long had played in all seven MSU games this season and was averaging 4.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

He will be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt.

The Racers return to action Saturday in Columbia, Mo. with a 6 p.m. game against the Missouri Tigers.
