Men's Tennis Falls 7-0 at No. 13 Tennessee

The Murray State men's tennis team dropped to 0-3 on the season after dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 13 Tennessee on Saturday afternoon at the Goodfriend Indoor Tennis Center in Knoxville.
The Volunteers used their nationally ranked doubles teams to ease their way to the doubles point as No. 17 Kaden Hensel and J.P. Smith defeated Hunter Gerlach and Chris Horton, 8-0, at the top spot and No. 35 Boris Conkic and Davey Sandgren defeated Nicholas Ksiezopolski and Yuri Pompeu, 8-1, at the No. 2 spot. Jadir Semensin and Mikel Headford fell 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Gerlach showed fight at the top spot before falling 6-4, 6-3 to Sangren. At No. 2 singles, Pompeu suffered a tough 6-3, 6-4 loss to Matt Brewer. The Vols clinched the match with Jeremy Tweedt's 6-2, 6-2 victory over Chris Horton at the third spot.
UT completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 defeat of Ksiezopolski, a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Semensin and a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Headford.
The Racers return to the court on March 5 for a match against Southern Illinois. First serve is set for 3 p.m. in Lone Oak.
