Track and Field Breaks Another Record; Finishes Fourth at OVC Indoors

Day two of the Ohio Valley Conference track and field Indoor Championships saw Murray State win two events and break another school record, their seventh so far this season.
Overall, Murray State finished in fourth place, with 74.5 points. The winner of the event, host Tennessee State, earned 128 points.
In the weight throw, senior Dominique Robinson broke the MSU school record for the second time this season with her toss of 18.15 meters (59-06.75), winning the event. Overall, the weight throw school record has been broken three times this season, and Robinson bested teammate Shameka Dial's school record (58-06.75) by exactly one foot.
Also in the weight throw, Dial finished in third place with a throw of 17.77 meters (58-03.75), while senior Laura Schroeder finished in 10th place with a toss of 14.32 meters (46-11.75). Freshman Felicia Hargis placed 11th with a toss of 14.05 meters (46-01.25).
In the 800 meter run, sophomore Taylor Crawford continued her hot streak, winning the 800 meter run, with a time of 2:14.85.
In the 55 meter dash, freshman Audris Williams finished in eighth place, with a time of 7.33.
In the 400 meter dash, freshman Amber Mills placed eighth, running in a time of 1:00.08.
A duo of freshman competed in the one mile run, with Katelyn Jones running the course in 5:04.44, good for third place, while Asenath NaAman placed 17th, with a time of 5:23.15.
In the 3000 meter run, Jones again finished third, with a time of 10:13.09. Crawford finished 10th in the event with a time of 10:43.51, while junior Alaina Zanin finished in 19th with a time of 11:17.05.
Zanin also competed in the 5000 meter run, placing 12th with a time of 19:40.74.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the MSU team of Brandy Williams, Audris Williams, Meagan Richeson, Mills, and Brittany Davies ran the course in 3:58.22, finishing in seventh place.
